IMAGINE WILDERNESS

IMAGES OF OUR ALBERT AND MATT'S SAHARA WANDERINGS
INGRAINED BY THE SAHARA WINDS

The most beautiful, and huge soft beige sand dunes of Mouragoza, Sahara Desert

Sand storms for three days, the most brutal Marathon des Sables. Visiblity with sand goggles-40-50 meters.

Albert and Matt-no shaves for 10 days in the Wilderness. Still friends after the finish.

Matt is his element-feeling good in the Sahara- "King of the Castle, I mean Rock."

Coming up another Sahara Desert Mountain Pass. You want to make sure you are on the right course, when these guys follow you. I took of Moses at this time. Soft sand, much of it and the temperatures hovering at 43 degrees cel. This was Wilderness Pure.

The Moroccan Military trucks providing the green laser beam for the orientation and direction of runners . This beam extended miles over the heads of the runners, so they could find their way throught the desert storms.

More lovely children of Southern Morocco. They also become your friends quickly when food is handed out.

The music of drums at the finish line at Mouragoza, Morocco

My friend Mohammed Ahansal, third place finisher of 2006 Marathon des Sables

I stopped at this place where poor people live. I could not believe what my eyes saw.

The wind is picking up again-After some time, this is nerve wracking, a mental battle.

Bruno's blistered heel, Everybody suffered with some blisters, some more than others

All the runner's have the privilege of riding the Morocco Military truck,
in the back of course, we thought of the sheep, and the cows

Enroute to our unknown destination. Buses stop for a lunch break
I mean the runner's lunch break.

The wind is picking up again creating a sand storm
