Polar Bear Update September 2, 2012

POLAR BEAR MARATHON UPDATE     

                  September 2, 20120 

Apparently the “bears are out tonight” in Churchill.  Reports are that the Polar bears are brave and misbehaving in Churchill this summer.

October 1, 2012 is the deadline for registration for this unique ‘first-time’ Polar Bear Marathon.

There are others who have indicated an interest in coming and I hope to hear from them before the deadline. Right now I only have about another 4 spots open for registrations.

I will need the registration by October 1, and full payment by October 31^st. See Brochure attached for details – complete and sign it and send it to me by Oct 1, 2012.

              I will be booking the flights right after October 1^st and will need names and numbers for flight and hotel bookings.

For non-Winnipeg residents, please book your flights to Winnipeg so we can catch the connecting flight to Churchill on the 19^th of November – exact time to be confirmed.  I will let you know exact times in the next few days.   Also, I would ask that you do not book your flights out of Winnipeg (going home) before the 24^th of November, since we will be having a fund-raising event on the 23^rd.

  We will also have extra clothing available in the escort vehicles, in case you are “underdressed” should it be extremely cold and windy.   There will be drink, fruit, and energy food in each escort vehicle.

I am in communication with Churchill on an on-going basis to get all the assistance we need.
